The inception of the Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland project was signed off in June, 2016. One year later, construction of the engine factory in Jawor began. In January 2019 Mercedes-Benz decided that a second factory would be built at the same location for the specific purpose of battery production.

“At this moment we are close to completing the work related to the launch of the first production line,” says Artur Schaab, Deputy Project Manager responsible for technical planning at the Mercedes-Benz battery factory. “We already have permission to use the building and are waiting for the first batteries to come off the production line.”
