Daimler plans new engine factory in Poland 

Daimler corporation is planning to invest around EUR 500 million in a new engine factory in Poland, creating several hundred new workplaces. The first Mercedes-Benz Cars manufacturing plant will be located in Jawor, around 70 km west of Wrocław. It will produce four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. The decision about location and the implementation of the project depend on final commitments concerning investment conditions, including aid granted by the state. In the first phase, the company is planning to invest around EUR 500 million in the new engine factory.

According to Markus Schäfer, Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, the planned construction of the new engine factory in Poland is another step in the global growth strategy of the company.

Production in the new Daimler factory is scheduled to start in 2019.
