Mercedes will support the education of students from the Electrical and Mechanical School Complex in Legnica.

The official signing ceremony, held on April 29, marked the beginning of a five-year collaboration between the school, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland and the authorities of the city of Legnica. As part of the agreement, students from the patronage class will be able to enhance their knowledge and skills in the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz factory in Lower Silesia. They will gain access to real-life experience with cutting-edge technologies applied in the Industry 4.0 environment. The company will also take an active role in school life, including participation in educational events such as Open Days.

The first cohort of Electronics Technician students is set to begin their internships at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Jawor in September 2025. Upon graduation, they will acquire qualifications that enable them to work in industrial plants, service centers and technical companies. They will also be well-prepared to pursue engineering degrees in fields such as telecommunications, electronics or automation and robotics.

"Working at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Jawor – a modern facility rooted in Industry 4.0 principles – we fully understand the importance of education that keeps pace with change and new challenges. Since the beginning, we have supported vocational education in the region, offering young people the opportunity to gain practical experience that will help them build their professional careers.
Our cooperation with the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in Legnica is also part of the transformation of our plant. Perhaps the future electronics technicians from Legnica will help us shape the innovative automotive market.”– emphasizes Marlena Biadała-Domino, Communication and Public Relations Manager at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.

This is yet another educational initiative in the region implemented by the Mercedes-Benz factory in Jawor. In 2021, the first patronage class in the field of electromechanics was launched at the Automotive School Complex in Legnica. One year later, the European General Secondary School in Legnica was established – the first high school in Poland under the patronage of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland. For several years, the company has also organized educational competitions such as the eco-themed “Eko Gwiazda – Jawor Edition” and has been running a special program for high school girls called “Girls GO Technology – Girls Get Technology”.

"The School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in Legnica has a long-standing tradition in vocational training. We are proud to now be a part of that story. Since the beginning of our operations, we have actively supported the development and education of young people through partnerships with schools and local authorities.
We help students gain practical skills and prepare more effectively for entering the labor market. This is part of our corporate social responsibility policy and a core value of our company.”– says Ewa Korwek, HR Director and Management Board Member at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.
